Oh Balls! It's Tater Tuesday

The kidling freaking LOVES these. She calls them "polka-dot crackers"  Their real name is Jim Want Ball Cookies. Yes, there are chickens on the package, but the crackers don't contain any chicken. Just another example of weird Asian packaging (which I love).

You can find these at the Asian markets. I've also seen them at Central Market. There are several brands and some are way better than others. One brand we tried had a fishy after taste. EWWWW.   I've also seen them in little single serving sized bags. Especially nice for trail or school lunches.

This particular brand is made in Taiwan. Each 3.7 ounce package has about 3 servings. 113 calories per serving... That works out to 91.62 calories per ounce. Not bad for backpacking!

So what does all of this have to do with Tater Tuesday, you wonder?

They are made of potato starch!!

Ingredients: potato starch, sugar, egg, wheat flour, skimmend milk flour, honey, maltose syrup, lactose salt, soybean lechathin.

Try these! They are sweet and crunchy and almost melt in your mouth. They are a bit dry though, so have some sort of lovely beverage handy.
